THE SOUND OF A GONG

As I was about to go home, I passed through one of the most successful Nai Cha establishments named Gong Cha which I though was a Chinese Resto before considering the name though it sunk into my head that 'twas a Nai Cha shop because of the "cha" word in it. (funnily)

So here I go, GONG CHA!

Since their stall is small, I transformed the photo into a large one...

The line was just UGH. It's as if it's the only Milk Tea shop in Glorietta. I was in a hurry and I had my "MILK TEA CRAVING" turned on and Gong Cha was the nearest at that moment so I had no choice but to suffer waiting in line and waiting for their respective drinks like everyone else.

For people who's new to Gong Cha, Gong Cha is a milk tea establishment that serves different drinks including Milk Teas, Teas, Juices, Yakult mixes, and their specialty, Gong Cha cream drinks...

As for the drink, of course I'd order their specialty drink I loved about Gong Cha!

That special cream is just SPLENDID...

Gong Cha - Gong Cha Earl Grey Specialty Tea (having Gong Cha on the first means it has the special Gong Cha cream)
- Overall flavour with cream = 8.5
- Gong Cha Cream = 5
- Amusement = 4
Professional Judgment = Their specialty drink is just amazing! I may not know how they make that special cream but it just has a really great taste that allows the tea itself to turn into milk tea by mixing it (adding up some amusement for the drinker and interact with the drink). The tea itself is tasty to be honest (I was actually ordering Matcha, but stocks were empty for Matcha tea, so I just chose Earl Grey). The drink is really unique in it's way because of the Gong Cha cream and may not look like Milk Tea at first since it looks like plain tea with whipped cream on top. The Gong Cha cream has some slight sourness if taken in pure but give a tasty creamy flavour to the tea/drink.

GONG CHA CREAM IS LOVE! CHEERIO!

APOLOGIZED SLEEPING

I'm posting this random-ness TEAliling post for doing the wrong thing that I can't seem to get off my mind and that I can't take off the guilt in me even though it's really ok and fine for that groupmate of mine in a project. I did my part well but did something bad...

I SLEPT

Since I promised that I'll wait for my groupmate to go back so that we could finish the project (though my groupmate told me that it'll last for about 2 hours only), my groupmate went back online at a later time and I didn't know that I already slept unconsciously...

All I can do that morning when I finally woke up was to

'cause I'm really sorry about the thing I've done and I didn't want that to happen!!! T__T

After apologizing, my groupmate still pointed out the good things I've done for the group since I did more than what my parts are in the group but I still have this guilt inside me...

All I could do was to give a big

for myself...

*SIGH*

SORRY DENZEL KURT P. SIY
(yeap, that's my groupmate! the master of all masters! he looks like this emoticon ------> -__-)

PAO PAO PEARL

SORRY FOR THIS QUICK POST! I'm in a hurry as of the moment...

hmm...

PaoPao Xiaochi Pearl Milk Tea
- Yummy-ness = 7.5
- Pearliness = 4.5
- Wallet Friendliness = 5
Quick Professional Judgment = Flavour is good but could be better. Should've been really tasty just like their Taro Milk Tea. As usual, their Pearls are top-notch and tasty which I love. Best part = it's really wallet friendly! It's cheap in terms of price but flavorful and authentic as well!

Sorry again! Time for me to say CHEERIO early!

CONTROLLED ZOMBIFICATION

CONTROLLED ZOMBIFICATION YOU SAY?

Drinking nonstop coffee while doing important work and listening to LOUD and UPBEAT music will give you that power to control your zombification...

Perfect when doing long projects or when finishing projects overnight... though it'll make you face like

and you'll worse than someone drunk (post-drinking), though not always...

And when zombifying yourself, don't forget to check out this guy when going to the bedroom...

CHEERIO!

PS: I'm apologizing now if you got scared, I really do... SORRY!

TRIO CHA

Just a very quick blog post here!

Me' close blockmates, Mike and 'Stelle, just happened to pass by ChaTime at One Archer's Place and drank Milk Tea. I had the courage to order a really weird drink that' rarely ordered... Here I go!

Left one = Mike's... Middle one = Mine... Right one = Stelle's

For the drink names...
Mike's = ChaTime Banana Cocoa Smoothie (he doesn't order smoothies much so he must be excited about this)
Mine = ChaTime TieGuanyin Tea Latte (told ya!)
Stelle's = ChaTime Mango Slush with extra Pearls (yeap, she never ordered anything different other than this... her so called "THE USUAL" ChaTime drink)

Time for a short Milk Tea, I mean, Tea Latte Judgment...

ChaTime TieGuanyin Tea Latte
- Weird Drink Flavour Level = 7.5
- After-Taste shizznits = 5
- Wallet HP = 3
Short Professional Judgment = 'Twas my first time drinking this drink and I was really happy about it. The score may be a little off but it's really tasty, plus the weird after-taste of TieGuanyin made it a really fun experience drinking. The price is "ok" for such a drink. An overall weird but good drink...

TIME TO SHARE YOUR TEAS

Well, whenever I buy Milk Tea, I really do share my Milk Tea with my friends as long as they're not "LC" or conscious when something like straws or ice creams are already licked or has some small amounts of saliva of another person. Good thing some of my friend's do not mind my saliva, and not to worry since I regularly brush my teeth and keep it fresh and clean!

So much for that! It's time for me to feature another Milk Tea establishment I've bumped onto when I was strolling Hong Kong although I wasn't aware of the street during this time, I hope you can forgive me.

It's time to feature, SHARE TEA!

I'm pretty sure the writing on top means SHARE TEA as well...

I was surprised that we found another OTG Milk Tea establishment while strolling around the streets of Hong Kong during a Saturday afternoon. 'Twas really cold during that time (approximately 9-10 degrees Celsius!) but we never hesitated to stop by for Milk Tea despite the coldness.

Their menu is, in Chinese once again... *sigh*

Looks like there's an interesting promo and a QR Code!
(if only I could understand that)

Onto my drink...

The drink looks pretty common yet it manages to prove something.

SHARE TEA Number 13 (Tapioca Milk Tea with Mixed Pearls)
- Hong Kong Milk Tea Flavour = 7.5
- Mixed Pearls = 4
- It's a Hong Kong drink! = 4
Professional Judgment = Yeap, I know I have my standards but it's pretty much our typical Milk Tea bough in HK. Though I have to admit that I just had a few sips since dad considered it very tasty considering not being much of a Milk Tea fan, it really has the authentic Hong Kong feel and taste but other than that, it's just Hong Kong Milk Tea. still loved it anyways. I was thinking that their other drinks would stand out, considering the menu... (we'll soon find out, if I can go back in HK)

Well, so much for Hong Kong talk, time for me to say, CHEERIO!

I AM LOST IN HONG KONG

PS: I WAS NEVER LOST IN HONG KONG, SO DON'T WORRY

Pardon me for being excited with this post but, it's because it'll be my first time blogging and featuring an international drink!!! Yeap, my family and I visited Hong Kong for some particular reason, but of course, food tripping would never be out of the list when going abroad aight?

Chinese peeps strolling and eating around Soy Street

So, my mom, my bro, and I was strolling around Soy Street and I found this pretty interesting and big Milk Tea Establishment. Time for me to meet my first milk tea at Hong Kong, COME BUY.

Yeap, Chinese menu...

HD Screens are good examples of customer attracting paraphernalia

When I was trying to order, I wasn't as confident as I am considering not everyone knows English. I was hoping I'd be lucky enough on what to order through the menu but the full Chinese menu just made me lose every inch of hope I have left. Luckily they have an English menu on the actual counter and took me a while before I finally chose my drink considering the very unique drinks I'm not familiar as compared to local ones and the toppings are just plenty to choose from.

Just like most Milk Tea shops, they have their customization options as well...

I was hoping to capture and read as much labels as I can considering this is very new to me but, I ignored most considering they're in Chinese and I cannot read such so...

Honestly, the menu was really exciting as they have so much kinds of Milk Tea drinks as well as variations of classic drinks. The menu was large but each drink seems to be very unique from each, not just the usual flavour addition via fruit or whatever.

ANYWAY! Onto my drink...

Left: My First "LITERAL" Hong Kong Milk Tea!
Right: Top view of my first "LITERAL" Hong Kong Milk Tea

COME BUY Hong Kong Milk Tea with Tapioca Pearls and Noodles
- LITERAL Hong Kong Authenticity Flavour = 9
- Noodles Oodles = 5
- Different Feeling = 4
Professional Judgment = Aside from the fact that it's my first literal Hong Kong Milk Tea, it's taste was just premium. The flavour of the milk tea as is is very great. What intrigued me is "noodles". I have to admit that I love noodles per se from the different soup noodle dishes including ramen, udon, soba, ramyun, and so much more, I never imagined noodles being a topping of milk tea (the noodles were Soba I think) but it really gave it a very unique experience for me, added the fact that it's really tasty as well!

Yeap, I don't see any mistakes with my name considering I can't understand the receipt...

That stainless steel counter is just plain sexy... oops, I mean, stylish
I apologize for the long blog post but I really had fun trying different food and drink (milk tea of course!) at Hong Kong. Join me next time for more Milk Tea goodness!

The Center of Milk Teas... Tea Central (get it?)

Yeap, awkward for me to start with a photo... and yes, NO description! Well, this is Tea Central. They feature a wide range of milk tea flavors and other drinks. And when I say big...

IT REALLY IS BIG!

Check out that menu. It's even got more under, and yes, it's a door.

The staffts of Tea Central are some of the best I've seen. They're really really friendly. When you're alone, they'll even chat up with you. If you're a regular, they'll typically know what you'll order and even say hi again plus the name. When customers are groups, they'll even crack up jokes with the customers and even ride when the groups are chatting and joking with the staffs. They're very nice and hospitable.

I really thought Tea Central was one of those premier franchises, which I would then learn that there are only a few branches. They should really go big because their drinks are really top-notch and the number of choices would really hit many customers in a bigger place including malls. They have the potential to go big, considering their service, their staffs, and of course, their drinks. I hope they'll go bigtime.

For the drink I chose, here goes... (I've been a customer of Tea Central before as well for how many times and their milk teas are tasty.)

Left: Yeap, it's splendor-ing in clean white.
Right: Their packaging is just cute.

Tea Central Cherry Blossom Milk Tea with Milk Pudding
Cherry Blossom Japan Flavour = 8
Milk Tea Size = 4
Staff Friendliness = 5
Professional Judgment = Even without the staff friendliness, their drink would still get high scores. The flavour of their cherry blossom milk tea is quite different from the usual Japan Milk Tea. It's got a milkier and a more fragrant and soothing feeling. It's just different. Pardon me if I cannot explain clearly.

well,  time to go CHEERIO!

Gonna go "Meow Meow" to Pao Pao Xiaochi

This'll be a short and quick post...

It's about...

PAO PAO!

It's a quite popular milk-tea SLASH chinese food stall. It could be found in different places mainly in places related with Chinese people including Divisoria and St Jude Catholic School. There's one inside DLSU as well! They really have lots of stalls and are famous in DLSU schools.

Left: Pao Pao's menu is few but their drinks are real' tasty
Right: I hope I can have a milk tea tumbler as big as that!

FOR THE DRINK...

Taro. Taro. Taro.

Pao Pao Xiao Chi Taro Milk
Taro Taro Taro = 9
Pearl compatibility to Taro = 3.5
Money saving Taro = 5
Professional Judgment = One word. TARO! Their Taro drink is one of the best taro drinks I've ever tasted honestly. The pearls they add on are really compatible with their taro drink. What's more is that their drink is really cheap! PHP55 only for a big tumbler of Taro Milk Tea!

Check out their awesome award! Congratulations Pao Pao!

What happens when teas are stacked?

When teas are stacked, what you'll get is a tower of tea cups (the plastic ones)...

OK, CHEESY JOKE WARNING... PLEASE MIND MY CHEESINESS...

Anyway, I never noticed this milk tea place near my school. Prolly because I hate places where there are lots of smokers. Well, there are lots of smokers near the area but the tea place itself is not a smoking area and it's really nice and cozy there. Time to meet Tea Stack!

Left: Their logo. Very stylish indeed...
Right: Yeap, they have Rocksalt+Cheese Milk Teas...

As mentioned a while ago, Tea Stack is a cozy place inside, not outside. They feature different drinks from Milk Teas, Yakult Aloe Drinks, and their famour Rocksalt + Cheese Milk Teas. I wasn't feeling very well during that time so I just tried their milk teas before trying their rocksalt + cheese milk teas since I was wasn't as adventurous that day (not feeling well) that day.

Yeap, their place looks great in vintage style... Check out that chalkboard.

As for the drink...

Tea Stack Royal Milk Tea
Royalty Flavour = 8
Comfort for my feeling = 3
Value level = 4
Professional Judgment = It's not bad, it's good, but not WOW. It's a darn tasty milk tea above some other establishments but, there's something missing though I do not know what. I can't really explain how to judge this drink but at least it comforted me that time...

Yeap, that's art... kidding!

I should really try their special milk tea next time...

SIAM taste of MilkTea

Today is a special day, 'cause it's LIV5! But before heading straight to LIV5, DLSU had a bazaar that time since 'twas University Week wherein there are lots of bazaars inside the University scattered everywhere!!!

And since I saw a unique Nai Cha there (which I tasted for the first time) which was something I've never seen before, I dared to try it of course... Introducing Thai Nai Cha from Thai Cha Yen!

Thai Cha Yen. Yeap, they have Thai Frappes and Thai Teas. Thai Milk Tea as well of course!

Thai Cha Yen isn't your ordinary Milk Tea around the corner. It's something more. Well, most already have fruit teas aside from the milk tea  most stalls sell, but they have lots of other menu choices including frappes and more. What interested me is their Thai topping named "Popping Boba".  I dunno what the heck that is so I opted for pudding instead but I got this sad feeling of not trying it for a taste of adventure. As I've researched, Popping Bobas are the Bubble looking sagos which are technically not Tapioca Pearls but somewhat similar to such. They are usually transparent or red/orange in color.

What did I order? Here it is!
My first Thai Nai Cha!

For professionalism, here I go...

Thai Cha Yen Sanam Pao Wanila with Thai Pudding (Thai Vanilla Milk Tea with Thai Pudding)
Siam Flavor = 8.5
Authenticity = 4.5
First Timer = 4
Professional Judgment = I have to agree, the Thai Nai Cha is really good in flavour. It's got an authentic feeling when you drink it plus it's got this spiciness feel into it. Maybe it has thai spices mixed into it. Other than that, the drink is really tasty apart from the typical fruit flavored or plain Milk Teas. I have to applaud Thai Cha Yen for giving me a really good first-time Thai Milk Tea

So, I'm off to say CHEERIO!

I gotta admit, it's really yummy and authentic...

When Tealiling met Serenitea...

'Twas Valentines Day. My friends and I, after taking LEAP, went straight to RP for a lunch gathering since it's a special day. Call it a FRIENDLY Valentine's Day with me' friends (and since 'twas the opening of the Haunted Hall in our University, we ought to visit that for some adventure late night!).

Serenitea, not your ordinary cup of tea : I do agree with that

During our RP trip, we stumbled upon Serenitea. Of course I wouldn't let this pass for my dessert because me' friends and I love Milk Teas though the others opted for Ice Cream at DQ. Here comes Serenitea! One of the Milk Tea establishments included in the Top list together with Happy Lemon and Chatime!

Top 10 eh? I gotta agree with Top 1 fo' sure! Cranberry Sensation should be Top 2!

It's just interesting for them to have a Top 10 list. I dunno how they're making it but I'm guessing they're keeping track of the number of buyers for each drink depending on the number of sales for each inventory item (pardon me about this, my Accounting Course should be blamed for merchandising shizz). This gives them a marketing strategy so as to give recommendations to those customers who take too long in line (which I definitely hate!)

Up: Serenitea's awesome cup carpet ringer, or whatever you call that contraption...
Down: A pair of those, whatever you call them, things. My friend and mine.

Yeap, this thing vibrates! And it lights up!

Newbies to Serenitea may experience a thrilling experience when they order since they wouldn't immediately get their drink (mostly because of the many customers ordering their famous milk teas). Instead, they get these disks of some sort that vibrates and lights up when your order is ready. Very fun and entertaining but not much when in a hurry. Seeing other people effingly laughing with this thing is just plain hilarious; good thing I'm not a newbie in Serenitea because I love Serenitea!

As for our orders...

That's our drink! The left one's mine! The right one's Hannah's (me' awsm friend)

PRO TIME!

Serenitea Hokkaido Milk Tea 100% Sugar with Crystals
Hokkaido-ness (Japan PAH-WA!) =9
Top 1 Benefits = 4
Worth Every Cent = 4
Professional Judgment = I've always loved Serenitea's Hokkaido Milk Tea (srsly). It really deserves to be on Top 1 considering the flavor of the drink. It's got this Japan feeling when you drink it which makes it different since other Milk Teas have the Hong Kong feeling or the Thai feeling (if you know what I mean). The Crystals weren't as good as if it was Pearls (as what I've ordered before) but it still manages to be tasty enough. The Price is worth every cent and the size would keep you drinkin' it up for long.

Since I was not able to drink me' friend's drink (but I sipped, teehee) I cannot completely judge her drink. My friend's drink though is Malty Choco 25% Sugar with Panna Cotta

So, that's it for now! CHEERIO!

PS: My brother's friend is the owner of Serenitea, that's why I've known Serenitea even before the start of the Milk Tea craze in the country. (HIPSTER ALERT! kidding!)

RTD Milk Tea...

Yesterday was an awsm day, though it had CWTS (not that I hate it but we did nothing that time). On my way to the meeting place during the morning, I decided to drop by at the nearest convenience store to grab something to drink. (Guess what I found!)

Yes, a ready-to-drink milk tea on a polyethylene terephthalate bottle.

Actually, I've seen my brother purchase this drink before but I somewhat ignored it. It was only now that I noticed such a drink. I found it at the drinks section (obviously) near the imported drinks such as imported green tea, mogu-mogu, etc. At first, I had a hard time reading the labels since it only contains a few english words and the rest are chinese. So much for being racist but I badly wanted to read the labels.

Mine Shine PREMIUM Milk Tea Drink
Premium-ness = 6 pts.
RTD Advantage = 4 pts.
Price Tag = 4 pts.
Professional Judgment: I hoped its taste was better but I guess I overjudged the drink since it wasn't as cold as it was considering it's on the store fridge when I bought it or maybe I wasn't much in the mood to drink milk tea that time. Honestly, the taste was nice but there's still room for improvements though despite not stepping up with the standards of bigtime stores, it's on a bottle RTD anytime anywhere. For a price of P42, why not? And it's so big compared to most RTD bottles you can find so you'll be drinking milk tea for a loooong time on the run.

I dunno what it stands for, but I hope it's something nice... (please)

Well, so much for Milk Tea on-the-go, it's time for me to go say... CHEERIO!

A stranger...

Well, this is a DRINK post FYI... Title went like that since the drink featured isn't a milk tea as what I usually post. I am to be featuring now a drink from a stall named "Taro Shii". They have a wide range of drinks but are mostly mixed flavoured shakes as well as ice-blended drinks and hot drinks.

Taro shii, you have my first non-milk tea drink featured

'Twas a bit of a hectic day when I found Taro shii since it was about an hour before my Accounting subject departmental examinations. Good thing was I found something good to drink to at least liven up my mood to review and give me some choco-power before an examination (it's my habit to eat/drink something chocolate before an examination, like a ritual...) It was something new at an eating area near my school so I went there to try this one up.

Despite their soft opening, they're serving full-time
and the choices of drinks are looking pretty...

Since I do not know what to order and it was quite a hot day that time, I ordered an ice-blended drink called "monkey"-something (forgot the name). The staff of the stall were very nice and gave me a smile while making and serving up my drink before leaving towards the table where my friends are. It costed me P85 (sounds pricey eh? but no) and gave me a choco-banana drink of goodness. It consists of dark chocolate, nutella (THIS!), banana, and milk blended into ice topped off with whipped cream and chocolate chips.

Taro shii "Monkey"-something...
Overall Taste = 8 pts.
Nutella = 4 pts.
Not a milk tea drink = 3pts.
Professional Judgment: The nutella gave the drink a good kick to the actual dark choco-banana taste. Despite the nutella yuminess, it needs more nutella as other people may not taste the nutella if you'd not drink the drink wholely (I mean, if you just sipped, you wouldn't taste as much the nutella). The whipped cream, surprisingly, was tasty unlike most whipped creams you'd find on most cafes.

Well, that's it for now... CHEERIO!
