Gonna go "Meow Meow" to Pao Pao Xiaochi

This'll be a short and quick post...

It's about...

PAO PAO!

It's a quite popular milk-tea SLASH chinese food stall. It could be found in different places mainly in places related with Chinese people including Divisoria and St Jude Catholic School. There's one inside DLSU as well! They really have lots of stalls and are famous in DLSU schools.

Left: Pao Pao's menu is few but their drinks are real' tasty
Right: I hope I can have a milk tea tumbler as big as that!

FOR THE DRINK...

Taro. Taro. Taro.

Pao Pao Xiao Chi Taro Milk
Taro Taro Taro = 9
Pearl compatibility to Taro = 3.5
Money saving Taro = 5
Professional Judgment = One word. TARO! Their Taro drink is one of the best taro drinks I've ever tasted honestly. The pearls they add on are really compatible with their taro drink. What's more is that their drink is really cheap! PHP55 only for a big tumbler of Taro Milk Tea!

Check out their awesome award! Congratulations Pao Pao!

What happens when teas are stacked?

When teas are stacked, what you'll get is a tower of tea cups (the plastic ones)...

OK, CHEESY JOKE WARNING... PLEASE MIND MY CHEESINESS...

Anyway, I never noticed this milk tea place near my school. Prolly because I hate places where there are lots of smokers. Well, there are lots of smokers near the area but the tea place itself is not a smoking area and it's really nice and cozy there. Time to meet Tea Stack!

Left: Their logo. Very stylish indeed...
Right: Yeap, they have Rocksalt+Cheese Milk Teas...

As mentioned a while ago, Tea Stack is a cozy place inside, not outside. They feature different drinks from Milk Teas, Yakult Aloe Drinks, and their famour Rocksalt + Cheese Milk Teas. I wasn't feeling very well during that time so I just tried their milk teas before trying their rocksalt + cheese milk teas since I was wasn't as adventurous that day (not feeling well) that day.

Yeap, their place looks great in vintage style... Check out that chalkboard.

As for the drink...

Tea Stack Royal Milk Tea
Royalty Flavour = 8
Comfort for my feeling = 3
Value level = 4
Professional Judgment = It's not bad, it's good, but not WOW. It's a darn tasty milk tea above some other establishments but, there's something missing though I do not know what. I can't really explain how to judge this drink but at least it comforted me that time...

Yeap, that's art... kidding!

I should really try their special milk tea next time...

SIAM taste of MilkTea

Today is a special day, 'cause it's LIV5! But before heading straight to LIV5, DLSU had a bazaar that time since 'twas University Week wherein there are lots of bazaars inside the University scattered everywhere!!!

And since I saw a unique Nai Cha there (which I tasted for the first time) which was something I've never seen before, I dared to try it of course... Introducing Thai Nai Cha from Thai Cha Yen!

Thai Cha Yen. Yeap, they have Thai Frappes and Thai Teas. Thai Milk Tea as well of course!

Thai Cha Yen isn't your ordinary Milk Tea around the corner. It's something more. Well, most already have fruit teas aside from the milk tea  most stalls sell, but they have lots of other menu choices including frappes and more. What interested me is their Thai topping named "Popping Boba".  I dunno what the heck that is so I opted for pudding instead but I got this sad feeling of not trying it for a taste of adventure. As I've researched, Popping Bobas are the Bubble looking sagos which are technically not Tapioca Pearls but somewhat similar to such. They are usually transparent or red/orange in color.

What did I order? Here it is!
My first Thai Nai Cha!

For professionalism, here I go...

Thai Cha Yen Sanam Pao Wanila with Thai Pudding (Thai Vanilla Milk Tea with Thai Pudding)
Siam Flavor = 8.5
Authenticity = 4.5
First Timer = 4
Professional Judgment = I have to agree, the Thai Nai Cha is really good in flavour. It's got an authentic feeling when you drink it plus it's got this spiciness feel into it. Maybe it has thai spices mixed into it. Other than that, the drink is really tasty apart from the typical fruit flavored or plain Milk Teas. I have to applaud Thai Cha Yen for giving me a really good first-time Thai Milk Tea

So, I'm off to say CHEERIO!

I gotta admit, it's really yummy and authentic...

When Tealiling met Serenitea...

'Twas Valentines Day. My friends and I, after taking LEAP, went straight to RP for a lunch gathering since it's a special day. Call it a FRIENDLY Valentine's Day with me' friends (and since 'twas the opening of the Haunted Hall in our University, we ought to visit that for some adventure late night!).

Serenitea, not your ordinary cup of tea : I do agree with that

During our RP trip, we stumbled upon Serenitea. Of course I wouldn't let this pass for my dessert because me' friends and I love Milk Teas though the others opted for Ice Cream at DQ. Here comes Serenitea! One of the Milk Tea establishments included in the Top list together with Happy Lemon and Chatime!

Top 10 eh? I gotta agree with Top 1 fo' sure! Cranberry Sensation should be Top 2!

It's just interesting for them to have a Top 10 list. I dunno how they're making it but I'm guessing they're keeping track of the number of buyers for each drink depending on the number of sales for each inventory item (pardon me about this, my Accounting Course should be blamed for merchandising shizz). This gives them a marketing strategy so as to give recommendations to those customers who take too long in line (which I definitely hate!)

Up: Serenitea's awesome cup carpet ringer, or whatever you call that contraption...
Down: A pair of those, whatever you call them, things. My friend and mine.

Yeap, this thing vibrates! And it lights up!

Newbies to Serenitea may experience a thrilling experience when they order since they wouldn't immediately get their drink (mostly because of the many customers ordering their famous milk teas). Instead, they get these disks of some sort that vibrates and lights up when your order is ready. Very fun and entertaining but not much when in a hurry. Seeing other people effingly laughing with this thing is just plain hilarious; good thing I'm not a newbie in Serenitea because I love Serenitea!

As for our orders...

That's our drink! The left one's mine! The right one's Hannah's (me' awsm friend)

PRO TIME!

Serenitea Hokkaido Milk Tea 100% Sugar with Crystals
Hokkaido-ness (Japan PAH-WA!) =9
Top 1 Benefits = 4
Worth Every Cent = 4
Professional Judgment = I've always loved Serenitea's Hokkaido Milk Tea (srsly). It really deserves to be on Top 1 considering the flavor of the drink. It's got this Japan feeling when you drink it which makes it different since other Milk Teas have the Hong Kong feeling or the Thai feeling (if you know what I mean). The Crystals weren't as good as if it was Pearls (as what I've ordered before) but it still manages to be tasty enough. The Price is worth every cent and the size would keep you drinkin' it up for long.

Since I was not able to drink me' friend's drink (but I sipped, teehee) I cannot completely judge her drink. My friend's drink though is Malty Choco 25% Sugar with Panna Cotta

So, that's it for now! CHEERIO!

PS: My brother's friend is the owner of Serenitea, that's why I've known Serenitea even before the start of the Milk Tea craze in the country. (HIPSTER ALERT! kidding!)

RTD Milk Tea...

Yesterday was an awsm day, though it had CWTS (not that I hate it but we did nothing that time). On my way to the meeting place during the morning, I decided to drop by at the nearest convenience store to grab something to drink. (Guess what I found!)

Yes, a ready-to-drink milk tea on a polyethylene terephthalate bottle.

Actually, I've seen my brother purchase this drink before but I somewhat ignored it. It was only now that I noticed such a drink. I found it at the drinks section (obviously) near the imported drinks such as imported green tea, mogu-mogu, etc. At first, I had a hard time reading the labels since it only contains a few english words and the rest are chinese. So much for being racist but I badly wanted to read the labels.

Mine Shine PREMIUM Milk Tea Drink
Premium-ness = 6 pts.
RTD Advantage = 4 pts.
Price Tag = 4 pts.
Professional Judgment: I hoped its taste was better but I guess I overjudged the drink since it wasn't as cold as it was considering it's on the store fridge when I bought it or maybe I wasn't much in the mood to drink milk tea that time. Honestly, the taste was nice but there's still room for improvements though despite not stepping up with the standards of bigtime stores, it's on a bottle RTD anytime anywhere. For a price of P42, why not? And it's so big compared to most RTD bottles you can find so you'll be drinking milk tea for a loooong time on the run.

I dunno what it stands for, but I hope it's something nice... (please)

Well, so much for Milk Tea on-the-go, it's time for me to go say... CHEERIO!

A stranger...

Well, this is a DRINK post FYI... Title went like that since the drink featured isn't a milk tea as what I usually post. I am to be featuring now a drink from a stall named "Taro Shii". They have a wide range of drinks but are mostly mixed flavoured shakes as well as ice-blended drinks and hot drinks.

Taro shii, you have my first non-milk tea drink featured

'Twas a bit of a hectic day when I found Taro shii since it was about an hour before my Accounting subject departmental examinations. Good thing was I found something good to drink to at least liven up my mood to review and give me some choco-power before an examination (it's my habit to eat/drink something chocolate before an examination, like a ritual...) It was something new at an eating area near my school so I went there to try this one up.

Despite their soft opening, they're serving full-time
and the choices of drinks are looking pretty...

Since I do not know what to order and it was quite a hot day that time, I ordered an ice-blended drink called "monkey"-something (forgot the name). The staff of the stall were very nice and gave me a smile while making and serving up my drink before leaving towards the table where my friends are. It costed me P85 (sounds pricey eh? but no) and gave me a choco-banana drink of goodness. It consists of dark chocolate, nutella (THIS!), banana, and milk blended into ice topped off with whipped cream and chocolate chips.

Taro shii "Monkey"-something...
Overall Taste = 8 pts.
Nutella = 4 pts.
Not a milk tea drink = 3pts.
Professional Judgment: The nutella gave the drink a good kick to the actual dark choco-banana taste. Despite the nutella yuminess, it needs more nutella as other people may not taste the nutella if you'd not drink the drink wholely (I mean, if you just sipped, you wouldn't taste as much the nutella). The whipped cream, surprisingly, was tasty unlike most whipped creams you'd find on most cafes.

Well, that's it for now... CHEERIO!

Buzzzzzzz...

Not the "buzz" as in bees or "buzz" like electric shiz or breaking news... Today's/Tonight's post'll be about them people you sit beside who sleep then moves their head like crazy or puts their head near your shoulder or near you as if they're your pillow. PARDON ME! I AM NOT A PILLOW NOR I AM YOUR BOYFRIEND TO DO THAT... (pardon the rage)

Yes, it was shaky in the bus.

That's me wearing a white tee and a random derp gal (prolly derpina) beside me. Her head just creeps me out and keeps on going near my shoulder. This'll really make people look at me suspiciously, and I don't want that... NO!

Tangled...

That moment when you put your earphones neatly, nicely, properly, in a good way, <insert more adverbs here>... then suddenly, when you take them from your bag or pocket, it goes freakishly tangled like "what the heck just happened?"...

Am I the only one?

Well, not much of a big deal it is but it does get on my nerves whenever that happens. I really have no idea on what sorcery is happening to earphones.

How about you guys/gals? Do you experience such thing?

Lai Chee? Lychee...

Once again, I met Chatime (yes, in One Archers again) and I can't help but to blog about my experience again. They re-released their lychee series! (cheers for that! woooh!)

PS: I'm really sorry for featuring the same shop, I promise to do that more seldomly... (please bear with me)

Chatime re-released their Lychee Series along with the Banana Series.

Actually, I should've ordered Yogurt Lychee QQ although me' next class is up in a few minutes and there'll be a quiz so I just ordered Lychee Milk Tea. I need not to add toppings since the Lychee Milk Tea itself has some lychee bits as is so, you could keep that in mind guys!

A quick shot before rushing towards my next class.
Why are my quick shots better than my previous, time-spent shots? o_O

Chatime - Lychee Series Lychee Milk Tea
- Lai Chee supereminence = 9 pts.
- No toppings uplift = 4 pts.
- Originality = 2 pts.
Professional Judgment = I have to admit that I really love lychee, but I always want that "something" that will make it very unique against other fruit-flavored milk teas. I know there are cheaper fruit-flavored milk teas around than this (thought the taste is just good), I still find it just ok. The no-toppings uplift gave it a something as it stood good even without toppings. The Lychee Series may be good as they have advertised but it isn't as unique as you can see on other establishments.

I'm sorry for judging too much... Have I been very strict to critique?

Anyway, see ya next time! (I plan to post a video for my moment post next time, I just hope I can do it)

Unleashing the Zen

First of all, pardon me for blogging very late that it passed the other day. I was very busy finishing other important school work so I wasn't able to blog yesterday night. No worries! At least I am to be blogging a drink hailing from Zen Tea!

Zen Tea EGI, a cozy place for students and customers alike...

They say that you can never have a day without seeing a person drinking a cup of Zen Tea when you pass by De La Salle University-Taft or if you are a student there. Honest enough, I kinda agree with what they say. This made me intrigued before and wonder what is with this ZEN TEA that makes it very popular to lots of people near the campus. Zen Tea is not just in EGI, they have lots of branches as well although I do not know all. I've seen one near CSB, another one in Alphaland at Magallanes (I know there are more... I'm sure of it).

Zen Tea EGI branch is spacious enough for their milk-tea
customers to relax in a cozy lounge-type layout.

Zen Tea's menu has the casual drinks most people would crave for. Not just milk-tea, Zen Tea also serves tea drinks especially their oh-so-creative "PersonaliTEAS" menu. The thing about Zen Tea's PersonaliTEAS is you cannot know what each of the menu name is or what it contains unless you ask the guy in the cashier to know. They have various menu choices including Malt Milk Tea, Flower Milk Tea, Taro Milk Tea, and my personal favorite, Yogo (Yogurt Milk Tea). Their staff are pretty plenty as well for a place that small.

I was alone during this milk tea experience and my adventurous side isn't active, so I just ordered "Autumn" (it's Zen Tea's Deluxe Nai Cha) XL for P70.

Yummy Nai Cha + Tapioca Pearl + Something I can't distinguish +
pudding (I guess) = ZEN POWER!

Zen Tea - "Autumn" Nai Cha Deluxe Judgment
- the DELUXE in Nai Cha = 8 pts.
- Comfort given (yes, the drink comforted me) = 4 pts.
- Drink relation to venue = 4 pts.

Professional Judgment: Drinking at Zen Tea actually comforted me despite being alone and not-so-comfortable that time. There's this comfort it gave me that makes me go like "ahhh, I've missed this" since I haven't drank at Zen Tea for months. Drinking the milk tea inside the area actually boosts up the drink power (or whatever you call it) since the environment really adds up to the experience while drinking milk tea, add up the fragrant smell of different flavours at the counter (and yes, music mashups for BG)

That's it for now (and I'm really sleepy now)... Comment me up if you want me to feature something or you wanna say something :)

An unusual place for milk tea

Honestly, I never expected to find a milk tea in a place like Chinatown, well, for chinatown here in The Philippines. Well, I know milk tea was founded and populiarized in asian countries, mostly chinese-related countries including Taiwan and Hong Kong but I was really surprised to see a milk tea establishment in a place like this. What's pretty good with it is that it could rival those milk tea establishments found in capital cities.

So here I go, Mr. Milk Tea reigning from 11/88 Mall in Divisoria.

Pardon the not-so-beautiful angle choice for the photo.

So, the milk tea shop was found in the food court of a chinatown wholesale/bargain mall. I had a pretty weird experience while ordering since the people serving and taking orders were chinese and do not understand the native language as well as english pretty well  (but luckily, they understood basic english, good enough to understand my order).

It was pretty purplish/bluish in actual view. Yes, it's blueberry.

There were new names I've seen in the menu like "duoduo" as well as "ximilu tea" which I tried avoiding, not that I don't want to try it, but rather to be safe and enjoy my milk tea experience that day (wasn't very adventurous/brave that day). I ordered a large blueberry milk tea, and it was just P50 (yes, fifty pesos). It's price, rivaled with other milk tea prices, is very cheap for the largest size (their largest size is as big as most milk tea shops would have). Moreover, the serving of the tapioca pearls were very generous although the tapioca pearls aren't as really tasty as other milk tea shops would have, it's still ok.

Mr. Milk Tea - Blueberry Milk Tea Judgment
- Blueberry goodness = 8 pts.
- Wallet-friendliness = 5 pts.
- Tapioca = 2 pts.
Professional Judgment = The milk tea experience itself was something, even better when the blueberry yummy'ness rushed into my taste buds. The price really made my purse smile since it was really cheap, not the quality, but the price. Downside was the tapioca; it's taste was, not so-so, but could be a lot better and the tapioca was way too many (well, maybe for me, but really, there were many).

Well, that's it for now... If you want me to feature a specific milk tea shop or feature a drink (may it be of any shop), you could do tell me if you want. Hope you guys/gals had some fun reading this.

First "Moment" post, and it's milk-tea related!

Have you ever experienced having your names misspelled? I know it's veeeeeery annoying and, sometimes, hurting to see your name misspelled. But no big, we can really say that not everyone is literate in spelling weird names especially names with different spelling or those names which aren't that common (count my name in, which is "Pierce").

"peers". SRSLY, has anyone knew or seen a name like "peers"?! Doesn't anyone know how to spell "Pierce" from personalities including Pierce Brosnan as well as Paul Pierce

What do we do then? Nothing! Just relieve yourself if we'll ever get angry or at least put some fun like laughing at the wrong spelling of your name! You could even gather up a collection of misspelled names of yours from milk tea shops and cafes! And oh, if you really want your name spelled properly, spell it out to the cashier or barista...

When Milk met Tea for the second time (the first was at my other blog)...

To start off this blog shiz, imma post about me' first milk tea experience (from the day I started to need blogging). 'Twas January 30, after meeting my friend after chillaxing after our classes (afterception!), I decided to go to Chatime© to grab a drink before leaving to go home.

Chatime One Archers Place... honestly, this is where I had my first Chatime experience (srsly, but I've been seeing Chatime before but never tried purchasing a drink)

An award eh? Let's see how you'll go against a milk tea connoisseur! (LIKE A BOSS)

Well, I've been drinking Chatime drinks and enjoyed them, but today'll be a day when I'll start judging them like a boss! (as well as share some experience along the way)

Right: My Friend's Drink = Taiwan Mango QQ Less Ice No Sugar / Left: My Drink = Chatime Roasted Milk Tea Less Ice Normal Sugar

What's exciting with Chatime is that it allows customers to customize their ice settings along with the sugar settings. The succeeding image shows it

more personalized options = more milk tea-gasm

The Roasted Milk Tea tastes great as usual, and unlike most milk teas, it's got this "chatime" taste to it that makes you distinguish it from most milk teas found on other milk tea establishments...
On the other hand, my friend's Taiwan Mango QQ, despite 0% sugar, tastes surprisingly good (my friend's slightly health conscious at times considering his physical condition although not that serious).

*PS: max score for a drink = 20 points. 10 points max for taste (name differs per drink) and 5 points each for the 2 criteria (usually one for value, and the other depending on the drink)

Roasted Milk Tea Judgment:
- Usual goodness = 8 pts
- Value friendliness = 3 pts
- Uniqueness over the usual = 3 pts
Professional Judgment = It's everyone's usual milk tea, nothing more. It's got a pretty good taste over other casual milk teas though, and many'll come back for the casual drink. The price is "ok", considering the price of milk teas.

Taiwan QQ Judgment:
- Juiciness (not meat-related) = 7
- no sugar impact = 5
- budget friendliness = 3
Professional Judgment = Yes, I'm a strict critique when it comes to this. And yes, I've enjoyed the drink considering it has no sugar but gave out its all to surprise me. It's price is pretty fine (although pricey, but since it's QQ meaning two add-ons usually nata and sago, I think?) since it's fresh juice. Although good, I've still drank fresher juice than this, or maybe it's just that I haven't had enough when I sipped or I just don't like mango that much...

Well, that's it for today... see ya next post!
